Who we are
The data controller for this website is Nicola Burns, trading as Ardross Aesthetics, 61 High Street, Markinch, Glenrothes KY7 6DQ. Ardross Aesthetics is a nurse-led clinic regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, please call 07775 107225 or write to us at the clinic address above.
What this policy covers
This policy covers this website and enquiries sent through it. Information you give at a consultation or treatment forms part of your clinical record. It is handled separately, and Nicola will explain how it is used and kept at your appointment.
What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, email address and message when you use the enquiry form on our contact page.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type and the pages you visit. This is processed by our hosting provider to deliver the website and keep it secure.
- Visit statistics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies or identify you personally.
- Spam-protection signals: the enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser to tell people apart from automated spam.
- Your cookie choice: the cookie banner remembers your choice in your browser's local storage. This website does not use advertising cookies.
Please don't send medical details
The enquiry form is for general questions and booking enquiries. Please don't include detailed health or medical information - we'll go through that with you properly and in private at your consultation.
How we use your information, and why
We never sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation, if you'd like one. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before you become a patient.
- To run the website securely and protect it from misuse and spam. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website safe and working.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the providers that help us run this website, and only for the reasons above:
- Cloudflare - hosts the website, delivers enquiry emails, counts visits (Web Analytics) and provides the Turnstile spam check.
- Lamond Limited (Jack Lamond) - builds and maintains this website for us.
- Yahoo - website enquiries are delivered to the clinic's Yahoo Mail inbox.
- Aesthetic Nurse Software - our online booking system. When you book online you use their system directly, and their own privacy policy applies.
- YouTube (Google) - Nicola's introduction video is shown in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and only loads if you press play.
- OpenStreetMap - the map on our website is loaded from the OpenStreetMap Foundation's servers, which receive your IP address.
International transfers
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to respond and deal with any follow-up. If you become a patient, your clinical records are kept in line with the retention rules for healthcare records, which Nicola will explain at your appointment.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that's wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- ask us to move your information to another organisation
To use any of these rights, call 07775 107225 or write to us at the clinic. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Age
Our treatments are only available to adults aged 18 and over, and this website isn't intended for children.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
